The Northborough Garden Club is accepting scholarship applications for students accepted to college who will be majoring in one of the following fields: Horticulture, Environmental Studies, land Management, Conservation Management, Agriculture, Botany, Biology, Floral Design, Landscape Design or related fields.

Qualified applicants must be a high school senior, in good standing, a resident of Northborough for at least two years.   There will be one scholarship awarded for $1,000.00 payable to the student upon completion and receipt of first-semester transcript.

The deadline for application submission is Tuesday April 10th 2018  

Previous Scholarship Awards

The Northborough Garden Club is pleased to announce that scholarships have been awarded to the following recent graduates of Algonquin Regional High School.   In June the Garden Club held its annual potluck dinner at Tower Hill Botanical Gardens where the awardees and their families were recognized.  Each student will receive $1,000.00 upon successful completion of their 1st semester.

The students are Anvita Hanchate who will be attending Boston Univ. to major in Environmental Science. Anvita is the daughter of Amresh and Varsha Hanchate.   Samuel Hersh who will be attending Bates College in Maine majoring in Biochemistry.   Sam is the son of Jon and Deborah Hersh.   Patrick McAuliffe will be attending UMASS Amherst majoring in Turf Management.   Patrick is the son of Richard and Cathleen McAuliffe.

Applicants must meet the criteria and fit the mission of the Northborough Garden Club to be selected for scholarship.  Future interested applicants may check with the Guidance Dept. at Algonquin Regional High School in January- February 2015 for next year’s application forms.

2012 Scholarship Recipients

The Northborough Garden Club presented two $1,000 scholarships at their meeting at Tower Hill Botanical Garden in Boylston on July 11, 2012.  The two winners were Richard Thompson and Matthew Pfannenstiel. 

Richard Thompson is pictured below along with members of the Scholarship Committee: Colleen Baldelli, Christine Cobb, Carlene DiDonato and Julie Zaterka.  Matthew Pfannenstiel was unable to attend.  Congratulations to both winners!
